What Are My Treatment Options?
There are a wide variety of options offered by medical and alternative healthcare professionals. Most Doctors are focused on pain and symptom management, and they do an excellent job. The first type of treatment would focus on medication or herbal/ homeopathic remedies which can turn off pain receptors.
Then the next step would be different forms of physical therapy, osteopathy or traditional Chiropractic that would be used to strengthen muscular weakness, address spasms, or increase mobility. The Upper Cervical Solution
We often find that the CAUSE of the problem is a NeuroStructural shift (even a few millimeters) in the spine that leads to structural imbalances and neurological interference in different parts of the body. What is a NeuroStructural Shift?
While no one is structurally perfect, there is a normal healthy range. In the same manner, we can understand what a fever is because we know what the normal temperature is, or what constitutes high blood pressure because we are aware of the normal range. There are established normals everywhere we look, including gauges and warning indicators on the dashboard of your car letting you know when things are abnormal.
In a solid spine, for example, we expect the head to rest on axis above the shoulders, and the shoulders and hips to be parallel to the ground. We also expect no part of the body to lean forward or to one side.
At Upper Cervical Treviso, we are looking for a significant three-dimensional shift of the spine away from normal. If the head and neck shifts in 3 directions, it will cause the shoulders to twist, and the hips to shift forcing the entire spine out of alignment.

These shifts cause the muscles to spasm, the ligaments to deform, and disrupt the NERVES traveling down the spinal cord. In other words, the main communication system that connects your brain to your body can be disrupted.
These shifts can affect the normal functioning of the body in different ways. Depending on the type of change, they can affect some or all parts of the Nerve System including motor, autonomic, and sensory nerves.

What Are Secondary Conditions?
Once a neural shift is present and disrupting the spinal nerves and spinal cord, it can create many different secondary conditions or symptoms. The reason these are called secondary conditions is because they are a result of the primary NeuroStructural shift, or the underlying cause.
These secondary conditions may result from the different parts of the Nerve System that have been compromised and the type of structural compensations in the body.
Identifying the Primary Condition will allow us to understand the secondary conditions. We generally notice that the longer the Primary Condition is present, the more advanced the Secondary Conditions are.
